Volunteering for Belper Community Transport (BCT) is a vital service for Belper. We are powered entirely by local volunteers — and we’d love for you to join us.
We’ve built a vital service that helps people in Belper and the DE56 area stay connected, but we need more helping hands to keep growing and supporting our community.

Whether you can spare a few hours a week or a few days a month, your time and skills can make a real difference.

 

Volunteer Driver Roles

Our volunteer drivers are at the heart of what we do.

As a volunteer driver, you’ll help local residents — including those who may be elderly, disabled, or otherwise disadvantaged — get to:

• Medical appointments

• Community groups or clubs

• Social activities and outings

You can contribute as little as 2 hours per week, or more if you’d like.
All necessary guidance and support are provided.

 

Volunteer Administrative Support

Not all volunteering involves driving — Volunteering for Belper Community Transport can involve supporting us behind the scenes.
Our admin volunteers help with tasks such as:

• Answering phone calls and booking journeys

• Distributing publicity materials

• Attending community events and spreading the word about BCT

This is a great way to help keep things running smoothly and meet people in your local area.

 

Social Media and Marketing Volunteers

We’re looking for someone with a flair for communication to help us manage and grow our social media presence.
If you enjoy creating posts, sharing community stories, and engaging with local residents, you can help us:

• Update and maintain our Facebook page

• Develop new marketing ideas and digital campaigns

Your creativity can help us reach more people who need our service — and those who might want to volunteer too.

 

Become a Trustee

Our Trustees play a key role in guiding the future of Belper Community Transport.
They oversee governance, help plan new initiatives, and ensure our organisation meets all legal and policy requirements.

Trustees attend monthly board meetings and work together to make sure our service remains sustainable and community-focused.
